Westcliff Baptist Church
We are a church with a strong safeguarding policy to protect children.
At Westcliff Baptist Church we love having children around and enjoy their enthusiasm and energy, so as part of our commitment to children we aim to provide a jolly good Sunday School for them to enjoy. Our aim is to help them make friends across their age groups, to learn to care for each other and to make them feel a part of the wider church community.
In Sunday school they learn about the stories, and important themes of the Bible and about Christian living. We hope that their lives might be informed and transformed by a living and active faith, enabling them to develop in their own journey of knowing God.
So what does Sunday School look like?......
The children go straight into Sunday School at 10.30am and are lead by four teams of adults who work on a rota. The children seem to enjoy the change in presentations and the different slant each team brings. They then join the Church towards the end of the service to feedback on the activities they have been doing.
We are happy to take responsibility for children of Primary School age in Sunday School and have a safeguarding policy in place to protect all children. Younger children can join us if they are accompanied by a parent, and some already do this so Mums and Dads will not feel out of place.
If there is a 5th Sunday in the month we have an All-Age Service where we stay together in church with the adults from 10:30 – 12 noon, but it looks and feels very different to other services as there is more active worship and something to involve the children.
We have had some kind feedback from parents who have joined the church recently because of the welcoming Sunday School and those who have been part of our church for some time value what goes on for their children.
So ..... if you are looking for a child friendly church, please bring your family along. We would love to see you and will do our best to make you and your children welcome.
